Make Your Garden Personal
Tuesday, June 22 , 2021
Engraving has always been popular, but demand has risen significantly since March 2020. We have had many requests from customers to create personalised pieces for special people and important birthdays with engravings.
Others have been working on projects for their homes and garden, adding engravings to make them truly unique. Our customers have kindly allowed us to share their engraved pieces to offer inspiration, so you can make your garden or that of a loved one extra special.
Make it personal
The past eighteen months has been strange for everyone, but it has made us all realise that the people in our lives are important. With families missing each other along with significant birthdays, anniversaries and milestones, many customers have requested engravings to remember them.
Our talented, onsite engraver, Nigel Hartfeild has been featured on the BBC and he has created engraved features for show gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. He can engrave a multitude of materials in a wide range of styles.
Sundial plinths and armilary spheres are popular for anniversaries and big birthdays, perfect to mark the passing of time.
A Personal Garden Sanctuary
During this period gardens have also become significantly more precious, a sanctuary from the world. Investing in lasting cast stone birdbaths and planters not only look great, but help the wildlife too, providing flowers for bees and water for birds in all weathers. It creates a space to enjoy for years to come, somewhere special to remember someone important.
A planter or urn creates a feature that will bring happiness to the garden for years to come, attracting bees with blooming flowers.
A Place to Sit and Remember
Benches create a wonderful place to sit and admire the garden growing and blooming. To soak up the sunshine and watch visiting wildlife. They are also a blank canvas for engraving.
You can use colour, gold leaf, lead, paint or leave it as natural Portland, the only limitation is your imagination. Nigel can carve images as well as text.
A bench is an investment, which makes it a perfect present for an important milestone in life or as a collaborative gift from a number of significant people, like a wedding gift from many guests or as a retirement gift from the team.
Special Memories
Although we have made gifts for customers, we also understand that many people have suffered terrible loss during the pandemic. Engraving a garden ornament helps to remember those sadly missed and keeps their memory close in a place they once loved.
Our pedestals and lidded urns can be used to intern ashes and create a unique memorial to for those special loved ones.
Of course it’s not just people, but family pets that people want to remember and keep close to their hearts. It is often difficult for children to process losing a pet and engraving a garden planter is a beautiful way to make sense of the passing and remember them fondly as a family. Planted with a favorite flower, so you can remember them each time it blooms.
A Smart House Sign
It isn’t just people that are remembered with engravings, but events too.
You can gift your home a smart new name plate to upgrade your entrance and make it easier for friends and deliveries to find you.
We can make the stone for you to fit your specification, but Nigel can engrave marble and number of different stones and finishes on request.
