New Build With Victorian Period Features
Our team worked with a builder and property developer to recreate Victorian period features for a row of new build terraced houses. These were created to replace homes that were destroyed during the Blitz in the 1940s. This project combined the best of both worlds, fusing the charm of Victorian styled exteriors with twenty-first century luxury interiors.
We used the neighouring houses as a template to replicate the lost Victorian stonework features so the new houses matched the rest of the street. This added value and curb appeal to the whole road, replacing the 1950s prefab semis that had been installed at the bomb site after the war.
We used our expertise to hand craft the stone detailing around the doors and windows featuring a fine floral and leaf pattern in the stone work, unique to the road. This beautiful pattern is repeated across the headers above the windows and along the lintels below the doorway arch on each property in the street. We also made cast stone gate pier caps and coping to support elegant gates and railings synonymous with the Victorian era, the builder even added traditional black and while tiled pathsways.
The inside of the homes however, are packed with the best of twenty-first century design. Each home is energy efficient and designed with all comforts of modern living with en suite bathrooms, sleek kitchens and landscaped gardens for alfresco entertaining.
With seven decades in business we have extensive experience in restoring and replicating character features from new builds to blending extensions into period properties and restoring damaged stonework. We have worked with Hever Castle, Kew Gardens, Kensington Palace as well as many private clients. We supply free CAD drawings so please call our team and we will be happy to help you with your building project.
